Call for 29th World Book of the Year Award launched

According to the public relations office of the Iranian Institute of Book and Literature, the annual event aims to explore and showcase renowned non-Persian international books in two categories of Islamic Studies and Iranian Studies. Works can be in any language. They are also due to be published (in their first edition) outside Iran in 2020.

Each of the two main subjects of Islamic Studies and Iranian Studies has many parts and subdivisions, some of which are as follows:

A) Islamic Studies: History of Islam, Islamic civilization, Koranic studies and hadiths, Islamic theology and philosophy, Islamic mysticism, Islamic law and jurisprudence, translation of classical Islamic texts, Islamic economics, contemporary Islamic studies, Islamic arts and architecture, history of science, etc.

B) Iranian studies: History of Iran, Iranian languages, Iranian geography, civilization and history of ancient Iranian religions, Persian literature, Iranian arts and architecture, history of science in Iran, Iranian anthropology, translation of major Iranian works, etc.

Accordingly, the Secretariat of the Prize Committee invites all academics, writers, translators and publishers to submit books for review, no later than October 2021, 31.

To nominate your title (s), please send an e-mail nomination letter to Professor Heydari, secretary of the IR Iran World Prize for Book of the Year at [email protected], and send a copy of the submitted book (s) to the following address:
