Iranian drug dealer implicated in killing of Azerbaijani border guards neutralized

One of the Iranian citizens who violated the border between Azerbaijan and Iran and was implicated in the murder of two Azerbaijani border guards, has been neutralized, Trend reports referring to Azerbaijani Interior Ministry spokesman Police Colonel Ehsan Zahidov.

According to Zahidov, as a result of joint operational search measures carried out by internal troops of the ministry and the National Border Service, the whereabouts of the person who was hiding in the mountains of the Yardimli district has been identified.

“He put up armed resistance and was neutralized,” the spokesperson said.

Previously, the rapist of the Azerbaijan state border, Iranian citizen Hasanali Bargi, was arrested.

On May 15, 2021, at around 4:00 p.m. (GMT + 4), three people violated the Azerbaijani state border near the village of Gendere, Yardimli district, in the area of ​​the “Goytepe” border guard service of the troops. borders of the National Border Service. The violators did not obey the order of the border guards to “stop” and opened fire on the border guards.

As a result, Lieutenant Samir Eyvazov and Junior Sergeant Farid Alimov were injured and later died in a medical facility.

On this fact, the military prosecutor’s office opened criminal proceedings under Art. 120.2.1, 206.3.2, 234.4.1, 234.4.3, 318.1 and other articles of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

During the inspection of the premises, 3,840 grams of marijuana, 95 grams of methamphetamine, 17,715 pregabalin tablets, gun cartridges and other material evidence imported into Azerbaijani territory were found and seized.
